From everything I've read and heard no, but I've never owned one. From what I know they are mean

Yes i had one when i first got in hobby and he was a bugger-but then recently have heard different

and know every
fish is different and its own personality

No. Sixline Wrasses are known as the Devil for a reason.
These guys will live happily with their tank mates and one day just snap and kill them.

Since you have another wrasse in the tank as well, it’s likely the sixline is going to hate the Timor and give her a hard time.

Over the years I have had several and every one of them turned out to be a jerk. The last one I had was in a 125g SPS tank and after about six months he started to beat the crap out of the other fish, no matter how large they were. There are better choices to protect your reef.

As i thought-they said the timor was peaceful yet when i added a melanurus he was not a model citizen to it and ended uo never seeing melanurus after 2 days….

I honestly think you’re one of the anomalies, I have also had peaceful six lines but I have tried over 10 in my own tank and only 3 of those were peaceful. I have experienced way more in an LFS and even there the ratio was higher.

tried one, it was a mess just biting my anthias and tangs fins. they are little jerks ime

Out of curiosity, what setups did you have yours in?

We had a peaceful sixline (the only wrasse) in a tank 10 years ago, but the LFS here has one that has been sold and returned multiple times. Seems a crap shoot to me. We went Melanurus with this tank.

For my protection, I had individual tanks so that if one became infected, the others were not affected. Each had 3-4 fish in each. My invert section had clarity plus acrylic display units.

That might be why you had no issue - Our tanks often had 6-7 fish in at once. We rarely got six lines in because of their aggressive behaviours.

Funny is, I had many 6 lines and royal grammas because they were colorful and cheap priced
