Hey R2R,

I posted a couple days ago about some concerns I had regarding my female clown behavior.

Since then I've seen some other fish behaviors changing as well and feel like something might be going on in the tank. First, no water parameters have changed since this all started but now I'm having issues with my wrasse and diamond goby.

My diamond goby has started swimming actively in the water column which is not normal for him. I noticed today a spot on his tail fin as well. His appetite is ok, coming down to the sand bed to eat, but after that today it has been back into the water column.

Today I was able to get a better picture of the spots I am seeing on my clown as well.

Lastly, my wrasse today was laying in a hole in one of the rocks in my tank, after moving from there it has been hanging out hugged up against a rock in the back of the tank with elevated breathing.

Appetites for all have been ok except the wrasse has not come out to eat today.

What do you guys/gals think I'm looking at here? Wait it out? Set up a QT and try to move and treat?

Thanks for your help.

Have you recently added anything to the tank? Without QT?

I would get one set up as this looks as if one way or the other it's going to be something that needs attention.

It's too hard to tell exactly what you are dealing with in pics. I would recommend copper + metro at this point.

I added coral recently that were dipped and inspected for anything visually as well. But that’s it.

The tail almost looks like lymph but the behavioral symptoms you describe imply something more sinister, perhaps.

Have you seen any heavy breathing? Flashing? Scratching?

The wrasse is definitely breathing heavy. The clowns are acting fairly normal and the goby breathing seems fairly normal as well. He has just never swam in the water column like that.

Edit: double post

Just an update question, I’m ok to leave any shrimp, snails, crabs in DT during this period correct? Got QT set up, more meds come tomorrow. Everything looking okay except the wrasse. Hoping he makes it through the night. :(

Yes all inverts can stay in the DT

Increased swimming habits could be the fish attempting to increase the flow of water across the gills, thereby increasing oxygenation. Feeling like Velvet to me...

Thanks for everyone’s help. Since posting all fish are in quarantine. No thanks to the diamond Goby and wrasse being two of the most difficult fish I’ve ever had to catch. Going on 24 hours very shortly. Started with metro and Prazi and already seeing positive results.

The wrasse Breathing has calmed and he’s been all over the tank. He was touch and go last night for sure, I think the shock of the move really got to him. Goby is hanging at the bottom of QT like his normal self and my clowns seem more active as well. Too soon to tell but overall positive so far.
