Fish Disease Index - Pictorial Guide

I have had him for about three months. It started about two weeks ago. It looked like he had got into a fight with one of the other fish. Then it grew tentacles or something.

sounds like an internal parasite. That might be also the cause for the shrunken look and rib cage ...overall looks not getting food.,. if eating alike a pig and not plumping up is a sign of intestinal worms. Remove to QT / Hospital tank and treat with a dewormer and antibiotics. keep us posted. Just my 2 cents..

So I converted a black molly for my reef. I had it quarantined for 6 weeks before putting in the reef (not for itself but to make sure that my other fish in qt were disease free) it has been in my display for about 3 months without issue.

No other fish additions to the tank, though I did put 2 plugs of corals (dipped beforehand on Saturday).

This morning I noticed that it has white coloration on its dorsal if. And a white patch. I don’t think it is ich, but wonder if it is bacterial. And whether I should worry about treating my display. I put the fish in quarantine.

What I am talking about is on the torso and dorsal fin all the other spots are from dirty glass of the tank.

The fish shows no other symptoms so far. No flashing, or labored breathing.

I am including pics here.

Any id on this? Sorry for the photos. Trying to get good ones all day.

It's a white circle about the size of a spirorbid worm.

Fish has been in display for probably 3 months. Went through qt which included 30 days of copper and 2 rounds of prazi.

Note the photo with the 2 clowns the second clown appears to have similar issue. This was on the glass not on fish.

How long has he had the white spec? It looks like a possible injury.

Just noticed the other day. Maybe 3 days. Other occupants are a smaller clown midas blenny and small chalk bass.

OK. One spot isn't usually something to get too riled up about. Keep a close eye on it. If it get's bigger, turns red, or more spots show up, then update. Until then, feed high quality frozen or live foods, add vitamins to same and keep the water quality high.

Good advice as usual. Looks more like scratch.. Any other fish showing any signs of anything in the tank?

A clown I have was previously treated with metroplex and focus in qt as I saw white stringy poop. No issues since (4 or 5 months ago) has since been moved to display. Today was the first time I've seen white stringy poop in display. Can I treat with metro and focus in display? Other inhabitanta aren't showing signs...yet

Can someone have a look at the pics below and give me a idea. Scales seam to be raised in the area of the soars. I have been treating with Nitrofuracin green powder but it doesn’t look like this is getting much better. What are your thoughts

@andys That looks like a wound that has gotten infected. How long has he been in NFG?

She has been in there since last Tuesday. I do 1/4 teaspoon for 10 gallons everyday. I change 100% everyday. This treatment I do with all fish. But these sores that come in on the Angels is hard to cure

Might be time to try a different ABX concoction:
  1. Kanaplex + Furan-2 + Metroplex
  2. Neoplex + Sulfaplex (or Triple Sulfa)

I have those meds in my shop. not allot of knowledge on them but would you increase the dose ? I double it on the NFG.

I would treat as directed on the labels. I've had bad experiences overdosing ABX.
