Hey all,

I'm currently cycling a 75g aquarium with a fish in cycle so i put in 2 damsels and 2 clowns. Unfortunately last night one of the damsels died and tonight one of the clowns died too. Both times i've checked for ph, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate and found nothing out of the ordinary. Ammonia and nitrite at 0, Nitrate in very low levels, ie 1-5 ppm and pH of just above 8.0. Any ideas as to what could be causing this? Thanks!

Also both these fish had been pretty lethargic the entire time in tank while the other damsel and clown have been swimming around and eating normally.

I would add some ATM colony or similar straight away and see if you can help them out

Its 2020 and there’s no need to cycle a tank with your pets.

I've been dozing with seachem stability every day and with seachem prime every other day. I do realize it was a big mistake now but that's what the lfs recommended and so i followed. Big mistake

+1 Definitely add some nitrifying bacteria in there ASAP. I used Fritz Turbo Start to get my tank started.

I seriously doubt it was ammonia that killed the two fish if he's dosing prime and stability plus If it was high enough to kill the fish the other fish would be dead as well
