This fish came in the store not doing well. Breathing fine, find moving. But he’s been sitting on the ground since he arrived. I adopted him from the store. What is possibly wrong with him and What can I do to help him?!?! (PICTURE BELOW)

Generally a very active fish but can be very shy when first added. .
Offer it time and let it settle in .
They will wedge themselves in rocks and raise their “trigger “ to lock themselves in
This same fish will most likely liven up and get comfortable .
will often spit water at owners to catch their attention almost like begging for food

Good luck .

He does appear locked, my niger Grunt did the same when I first introduced him, laid down behind a rock and the back. Might be that, but hopefully the fish medics tagged can help! @MnFish1

Not typical of a niger trigger and shows a very weak fish.
How was fish acclimated/introduced and for how long?
While it can adjust to tank and perk up, increase Oxygen with air stone and lower lights (at least whites) and keep an eye on it.

These get really shy at times, especially when new to an aquarium.

I would dim the lights until tomorrow and then dim the room lights (so it can't see you as well) and try enticing it out to feed.

He was spitting water in the bag as if he was happy. I just let him out of the bag and he swam normally into a crevice to bed down. Is that a good sign?

That’s normal behaviour for these fish. .

As mentioned dim or turn lights off and let him settle. .
He will become the most aggressive bully of your tank

Hope you don’t have small fish or crabs
