Fish Face-Off - Week 5

With all the hype in the past few months about the Ruby Red, I figured I'd put it to the test.

This week's match up is:

The Green Spotted Mandarin





VS

The Ruby Red Dragonette

The ruby red is a very good looking fish. But I think the blue manderin is one of the coolest fish period. Not sure if I would be able to keep one in my tank maybe when it's a little more established.

I have a male Ruby Red and like the scooter blenny he is constantly moving all over the tank. He's on the sand, on the rocks and climbing the back glass. When he extends his black fin, he looks like a flying fish. The Mandarin is nice but the Ruby Red has more character.

I am on the fence of getting one but I have to go with the mandarin. Just about one of the coolest looking fish imo.

My vote is for the green spotted mandarin. Beautiful fish; ours has a great personality.

I'm a Dead Head. Gotta gO with the spotted (psychedelic) mandarin. It is going to be my next fish once I find a nice one.

I'd have to vote for the mandarin. The colors are simply overwhelming to me.

The Red Dragonet for sure! Mine is so awesome... tons of personality and just plain beautiful. Had mine for about 6 months, he's fat and happy. Initially would only eat pods, but now chows down on mysis pretty hard. The way the red body glides across the sand with the help of those neon-yellow fins is quite hypnotizing.
