Year started out rocky. The contents of the fish feeder dumped into the tank. Luckily, noticed right after it happened. I immediately used a fish net and caught as much as I could. I then did a 10 % water change and siphoned up as much as possible. My skimmer is going crazy so I have it dumping into a bucket. I turned off the ATO for the time being and will add salt water back since a lot of water is being dumped into the bucket. I am making more salt water and plan on a big water change as soon as it is ready. My tank is 75 gallons so I am thinking a 25 gallon water change.

Question: Should I also “pre-dose” NO3PO4X in anticipation of a Nigrate / Phosphate spike? Is there anything else I should do?

Tank Contents:
3 Chromis
2 Clowns
1 Lawnmower Benny
1 Peppermint Shrimp
1 Coral Shrimp
1 Fire Fish

1 Hammer
2 Frog Spawn
1 bubble tip
1 toadstool
GSP
10 frags / SPS and LPs

Thank you for your help.

Sorry to hear but hopefully it won’t cause big issues.

Monitor ammonia in a few hours and add prime if you notice any spikes and watch your fish for any signs of sluggishness or weird behavior. Point your power heads to the surface and increase water movement to prevent oxygen depletion.

I wouldn’t dose nopox now, it may cause a bloom that could further deplete o2. Good luck!

Thank you @EmdeReef. Hopefully I caught it in time. Happy New Year!
