Hey guys I've got a new coral beauty in the tank and I'm having a problem getting her to eat? are there any suggestions to try or things that might help to get it to start eating?

today is day 4. I've been feeding frozen foods. Before I bought him I asked for them to feed the tank. The fish ate fine in the store. I'm sure its still probably a little early to tell, but thought i would ask before I had a problem on my hands.

Day 5 is usually indicative of whether it's going to eat or not. have you seen it nipping on the rocks?

Yeah she has been nibbling on the rocks and around the back wall some. She's beginning to swim around the tank more and be more active.

sounds like just needed to acclimate to the new tank, try garlic extract for hard to eat fish usually works for me.

If the fish is nibbling on the rocks you should be good...just watch out for it nibbling on your corals.

There are different versions of it the one I use is called garlic extreme. I just add a couple of drops to the fish food and let it soak for a few minutes then feed the fish. It stimulates the fish appetite. Some people claim it helps the fish build a good immune system as well. I read an article about this and it was kind of 50/50 on whether it did or not. I only use it for stressed fish not eating, myself.

You wouldn't happen to know if this article is still posted or available to view do you? I like reading as much as I can about different things before I try them.

Also would it help to try different types of foods? I'm feeding the same thing the shop was feeding... Any thoughts?

Just do a Google or R2R search on feeding fish with garlic. There are conflicted thoughts on the use of garlic. One side says that it helps feeding and appetite while also boosting the fishes immune system and others say it's harmful to the fishes digestive system. I know a lot of fisherman use a garlic scent on their baits.

I like to feed a varied diet to my fish. Including pellet and frozen foods, I also feed heavily and often, which is not something I recommend to everyone.
