how often should I feed my fish. I am currently on every other day. would spreading it out to every third day be to much or should I be feeding the once a day. I know the LFS that I bought them from fed them twice a day. I try to get them used to being fed every other day in QT and so when there in the DT there used to it.

+1 on crackers response he gave some good advice. Squeeze it into your daily schedule and make it part of your routine, before long it will become a good habit.

How would you feel if you got fed every 2 to 3 days? Prefer to feed twice but feed at least once a day. If you don't feed your inhabitants enough they will do what they must to survive. They will do this by crabs eating snails, shrimp killing corals and skinny fish not getting along with each other. Even though your corals can live on light without fish waste your corals will not be at their best. Don't know what you got in your tank that needs to eat but to prevent one problem from becoming many please feed your fish. Especially if you have shrimp...they eat a lot and can really create hell in your tank if not fed to their satisfaction. If your LFS feeds twice a day maybe they know a thing or two.

My opinion is not good to not feed fish daily at least once a day . A couple or 3 "small " feedings" a day is best.

Agreed. Frequent small feedings is the key. It also makes a big difference in what you feed (ie pellet vs frozen). Personally I am a big fan of frozen LRS Reef Frenzy as it is essentially an all in one diet for Carnivores and Omnivores (and not a bad supplement for Herbivores either). My Yellow Tang is every bit as happy eating the Reef Frenzy as he is the Seaweed I feed it.

+1 cracker above
It depends on what sort of display tank you have. Fish in the wild look for food all the time. If it is a 2 year old tank with a thriving population of pods, algaes and other little creatures, you can prob feed every 2 days if you have a small fish population in relation to tank size. Most tanks are overstocked with fish. Overstocking will work as long as you feed often, feed quality foods and deal with the added nutrients. Live is best , fresh next best, frozen, then dry if you must.

Great advice imparted by all in this thread, however, I admit to some fairly heavy feeds but only with Selcon, G.G. enriched frozen and not dry to keep nitrates down.
