I have 3 fish in quarantine. A month to go to complete my 76 day fallow period in DT. It was determined that my French Angel had/has Lymphocycsts. They have gone through 30 days of copper power at 1.75 ppm. Right now I am running Cuprisorb to remove it. Down to about 0.2 ppm at the moment. Once at 0 I was going to do at Prazipro treatment.

Currently they all seem ok and the French Angel cycts are mostly gone except for a small spot on the tail. I noticed today that my clown fish was flashing against the pvc piece. After 30 days in copper I would expect all parasites to be gone? Did the clown get the Lymphocycts? Is it contagious? With no known cure my wife is hesitant to put them back in DT, but I am not sure any fish we get from LFS will be free of the virus?

flukes survive in copper?
Yep, they can and do. General Cure (prazi + metro) usually takes care of them and internal parasites (worms). Two doses 5-7 days apart with a 25% water change before the 2nd dose. Then observe for 7-10 days. Sometimes a second round is needed.

Prazipro contains Oxybispropanol to keep the prazi in solution. The Oxybis, can and does frequently contribute to a "bloom" in your tank that robs O2. So if you do, it is wise to use a powerhead aimed up at the surface that's actively agitating the surface increasing the O2 exchange. I usually also add a airstone; but the powerhead contributes the most O2. Also the dosage in Prazipro is a bit high at 2.5 ppm. The dosage in GC is 2.0 which is much easier on the fish. Of course you can adjust the Prazipro dosage down to 2.0 if desired. The other plus is the metro in GC. With both Prazi + metro in GC it takes care of flukes and worms. Some are resistant to one or the other but not both. So GC is a bit more efficient.

Good to know. I have both a powerhead and an airstone. I currently only have Prazipro, so that is why I was asking. Can I start the Prazi treatment if I still have trace amounts of copper, or does it have to measure 0.

Also I do own Kanaplex, Metroplex and Furan2. Should I dose Metroplex with the Prazipro?

Not a big fan of mixing medications unless dire conditions necessitate their use. Some water changes could help to remove the copper a bit faster.

Some people do dose them together. Especially the breeders and others with large QTs. They buy in bulk at much lower prices. Just have to be careful not to overdose. That's the beauty of GC, it's easy.

Have you found this is better than following the instructions on the GC? I have been doing 1 dose, ,wait 48 hours, then a 2nd dose. Wait 48 hours then do a 25% water change.

Ignore the instructions on the box. Dose once and wait 5-7 days. Do the 25% water change and redose. Wait 5-7 days. Do the 25% water change and then observe for 5-7 days.

Thanks Gary. I'll give it a shot. I have some anthias in QT currently (3 Bimacs and 1 Sunset). I added the first dose on Sunday. I'll just wait until this Sunday to dose again.

Also keep in mind, copper can supress symptoms of Brook, flukes, uronema. It won't erradicate them but can somewhat control them. So seeing fish flash as copper is reduced after a successful treatment would have me treating or looking hard for Brook with a clownfish especially.

@Big G has you covered. His advice is always excellent. :)
