so I noticed tonight that my sailfin and a small blenny are flashing against stuff in the tank. This just started and ( kicker) I leave for 10 days Thurs. am. Is there any thing I can do besides just walking away? These fish have been very health and robust and are just showing sign of something amiss. Sailfin has a small white dot on caudaul fin. Not able to see more as light was not the best.
I have a person checking things every couple days but not going to try saddling them with and attempts to qt.
Thank you,
Jim

Are these new fish? Were they treated prophylactically for ich/velvet? Was anything new "wet" that was added to the tank? How old is the tank?

Fish were treated with copper qt. Tank is a year and a half. Probably the stress of two big water changes in a week. Trying to get chemistry back in line. Nothing added at all. If things don’t get real bad while gone I will set up the qt tank again.

Watch that dot.

If it's ich, it'll be there for between three and seven days. If it's not there in the morning? Probably sand. If it's still there in a week and a half? Likely Lymphocystis.

Flashing just means "that itches". If I went to the doctor's every time something itched . . . Flashing is certainly worth noting, but not worth panicking over.

Noticed the yellow tank doing it this am. No sand in the tank so... I will just let things ride and see what I come back to. Ick doesn’t scare me to much but velvet sure does. Appreciate the comments a great deal. Wish all a Merry Christmas .
