Hi so I had a dwarf angel come out of QT (TTM + Prazi for 14 Days) and after being in the tank for a few hours he started being more adventurous and went near one of the hammers and was looking like he wanted to nip it (I was watching close for nipping) and then he went a bit crazy head twitching then darted back to the other side of the tank and flashed once. He seemed okay after this.

then I came back out a little later and saw my anemone was retracted fully(like ticked off) and the coral beauty was violently flashing.

I pulled him straight out of the tank and put back into QT he was in the tank a total of about 10 hours.

Could a fish flash from a coral or anemone sting or am I dealing with something more sinister? If I am do you think 10 hours the tank is enough for external parasites to spread ....?

I am going to do a freshwater dip on him today to see if it’s flukes however I don’t think that’s likely as he’s gone through 2 rounds of prazi. Surely can’t be ich after doing TTM. Only other thing is velvet but there are no signs of that.

No other signs of parasites - never flashed in QT and hasn’t flashed again since being back in QT that I have seen

bit confused any ideas?? What’s my next move...

Most dwarf angels are usually not "reef safe" as they will peck at corals, etc. Sounds like yours got stung pretty good. Some stings from nems can burn, cause paralysis, etc.
Wouldn't hurt to treat the DA with a wide spectrum antibiotic like Kanaplex which is very gentle or Ruby Reef Rally.
You may have to choose between your DA or your nems, corals. :(

thanks yeah I assumed as much. He’s acting crazy in the QT now I have uploaded a quick video. I’m not sure what is happening...

If you can’t view it I will upload via YouTube just let me know.

Do you think it could be Protozoa or more than likely a sting?
