hey everyone, are there any fish that would do good in a shallow type of tank. I'm thinking of setting up kind of like a frag tank but like more appealing if you know what i mean. something with a nice aquascape but also focusing on corals. thanks!

What size will the shallow tank be? Will there be any screen covering?

that's all tbd but so far my dimensions are somehwere around 36x20x whatever height would be good for this style. if i go with a foot tall, the tanks around 40 gallons. i dont know about screen covering yet, i have covers on all my tanks so far but i feel like a lagoon tank would look good without a cover...

I think if you nail down the dimensions and some other considerations, it might make it easier to give suggestions. I asked about the screen because of most wrasses are jumpers (you might be able to get away if you go with the lagoon setup and wrasses aren't the only jumping fish (curse you sneaky clownfish!), and the dimensions will largely determine fish that need a lot of swimming room (e.g. the tank won't support a tang).

Otherwise, I'd be more than happy to suggest nano-sized fish if that's your preference? This would include fish like most gobies (e.g. tailspot, rainfords ), blennies (e.g. lawnmower, bicolor), firefish, clownfish, cardinal, mandarin (when mature or dosing pods), etc.

for a lagoon style, how tall would you think it should be?
