Fish getting into glass overflow

I have a 120 gallon tank with a build-in coast to coast glass overflow and one of my clowns keeps getting into the overflow. Any ideas on some sort of baffles I can attach to the glass somehow to keep him out?

I am not familiar with this style overflow. Can you post a pic so I can see what you are dealing with?

Can you cover it with 1/4" clear mesh to keep the fish out?

Thanks for the link, not exactly what I have but it’s close. I was thinking of doing something like that but not sure how I would attach it. Any ideas?

I’d essentially have to attach the mesh to glass that’s submerged in water

I had the same problem with my 120 c2c overflow. I made a lid for it out of glass. I put a few spacers on it and just set it on top of the overflow. Worked well but kind of a pain.

plastic gutter guard, add some sort of weight to the top of it to keep it down.

The DiY coast-to-coast is essentially what the current ghost style overflows are based on. I ran them on all my tanks up until about 2008. They work really well, just kinda ugly and take up way too much space inside the tank.

I saw what is was once I looked it up. Just didn't know they were called coast to coast. LOL

When I had that kind of overflow I put eggcrate, looks ugly but works.

Egg crate that sticks up a bit over the overflow lip. Paint black. For very small fish cover with clear screen. Tie wrap it to the egg create. It will reduce flow a bit .
Clamps plastic these below work for me or you can use potatoe chip clamps but they rust and need to be replaced often.

Ended up goin pet strength screen for screen doors and cut some baffles to keep the flow up
