Do you think that fish grow to the size of your tank? I have several tangs and clownfish that are going on 15 years and they never get any bigger. I feed them well but they never grow. What are your thoughts ?

HAve you stepped up the feeding? As they grow they need for food. Mine are certainly getting bigger.

If wa ytter quality is maintained properly fish should grow to their maximum size, if not larger in captivity. It is not just nitrates and phosphates and such. Fish can excrete hormones that impede growth. Regular water changes, protein skimming and using and regularly changing activated carbon all help. There are also other environmental factors that affect growth such as quality, quantity and frequency of food, temperature and social issues, such as bullies, rivals and prospective mates.
