That's good you were testing, it can be hard to keep copper levels consistent using any type of poly, sponges are usually much better. I would get the surface of the water moving as much as you can and probably add some bottled bacteria like biospira to help process any ammonia build up that the alert badge may have not detected yet. If their breathing doesn't improve MB can be used to help but it's best done in a bath because it will kill your biofilter

It's a very good treatment to have on hand, it still wouldn't be a bad idea to try the freshwater dip on at least one of the fish to ensure they don't have flukes, copper won't eradicate them if they are present

I use the kordon methelyne blue, I was able to find it locally but you can get it on amazon also. You will want to use it in a 30 minute bath at 1ml/gal

I wouldn't recommend safety stop, it's basically small doses of formalin and methelyne blue in an unknown concentration. Formalin is a known carcinogen and I believe the manufacturer even states that it shouldn't be used on sick fish

Ok I will be ordering that MB tonight. In your experience since I haven’t tried doing this before I have a melanurus wrasse, long nose hawk, 2 black ocellaris clowns and a sailfin tang how well do they do in this bath if you have tried with tangs and wrasses

I have used it on a few tangs, clowns, a long nose hawk, a six line wrasse, and a few other fish and it helped a lot, methelyne blue is generally pretty gentle on fish. The only caveat that I would have is that a bath in a bucket can be stressful by itself so keep an eye on them and I'd only do it if I thought it was necessary

I don’t think the wrasse really needs it because he only breaths fast when he is startled when I walk into the room. I think only the clowns tang and long nose need it

That is pretty normal to see fast breathing when they're startled, if you're seeing it all the time then it's a good indication of a problem

I have a bigger bucket I think somewhere around 10-15 gallons a lot bigger then a home depot bucket should I used that with like 3 gallons of water so they have room to swim so I can put them all in at once and not just a couple in at a time? Also should I put a heater in there or should I put out in the 90 degree heat with a lid so it can get a little warmer because I read that this medicine stains really bad and turns everything blue? What’s your thoughts?

In my experience I've found it's very easy to overheat a small amount of water even using the same heater I'm using in the QT because of how slowly the thermostats react. When I do a bath now I usually use a digital thermometer to check the temp of the qt and then use the same thermometer to match the bath temp. If it's a longer bath I'll put a small 50 watt heater in the bucket and if the thermometer starts to creep up I'll unplug the heater for a bit. An airstone and /or a small powerhead work well to keep the water circulating and oxygenated. Since the MB bath is only 30 minutes the temp probably won't swing much so you may not even need a heater, I still like to monitor the temp though. MB does stain but most of it will usually rinse off if you do it right away. I'd also probably do smaller amounts of fish at a time to reduce stress

I got the methelyne blue today just got done with the first 3 fish in 4 gallons of water with 4 ml of methelyne onto the last 2 fish.

Still fast but maybe in the morning it will get better. Do you see results right away?
