My yellow clown goby has be messing with my hammer and making it close up is there any way i can stop it from doing this

Messing with it as in sitting on it or actually nipping at it?

That is what they do unfortunately. Mine usually sit inside my SPS colonies, but I have had some that sit on the LPS as well. If it is on the skeleton and not the actual head, the hammer may get used it, and it may not.
