Fish has a gouge in his body

I have a new potters angel currently in TTM. Had him for about 8 days so far and he eats very very well.. He was hiding the first day but now is not shy at all.

He has a gouge\wound in his body though, about the size of a 1mm. I've been observing it and there's no redness. Should I use any antibiotic or just leave it be?

I would recommend antibiotics as ttm don't usually have the perfect parameters especially after day 1 of the transfer where ammonia starts to build up and you encounter bacterial blooms. I don't want a wound to get exposed to this stuff. Although i'll leave it for the experts to give the final verdict since I didn't face this situation before.

I'm not certain whether that injury is already infected, but it certainly could go that way. Whether you choose to begin treatment or not, it would be best to source some antibiotics and have them on hand when (if) you need them.

I personally would leave it be; it might just be dead scale(s). But be prepared to use antibiotics if it gets larger or reddens.

I agree with just leaving it be. Since he's eating well, just be sure to feed him the best quality foods and add vitamins to the food. The Acriflavin dip is a great idea as a "just in case"
