Hi all,
I received a few yellow tangs that had cryoptocaryon. They came with a powder blue that was clean. I put them all in coppersafe and raise it up to 2.0(I think) of coppersafe. It has been at this level since 11/19 (5 days) and now the powder blue is showing some spots.

Does this mean I dont have enough copper in the water? I am testing with API and Chemetrics but its difficult for me to tell.

I dosed 140ML in roughly 180g system.

I have done water changes and dosed 2mL for every gallon that I have replaced as well.

Thanks in advance

You can post a photo of your test here (natural sunlight is probably best), and folks may be able to help with the reading. They can be tough to discern.

the photos with 3 in it are
system 1 - which should be at 2 ppm copper
system 2 - which should be at 2 ppm copper
one gallon of water - I put 2mL of coppersafe in it 2 weeks ago and it has been sitting and i use it to compare sometimes. it seems darker than system two but close to system one.

The water changes could be causing the issue. system two looks light compared to the other two

Hope this helps

Agree with @Maritimer, closer to 1.0ppm. It's easier to tell outside under indirrect sun light. Hold the vial off the card about an inch and look straight down. I ran my QT at just a tad darker than 2.0 but not 4.0ppm for velvet and cured 2 tangs.
