Well bummer. First fish for my reef in QT for the past week+ awaiting move to DT. Great water parameters, but I did leave the filter off one night by accident after feeding (ugh) and my royal gramma got stressed. I've since set up a feeding timer. But in any event, I think that may have contributed to bringing out what I think is Lymph on him. Has one spot on his dorsal and pectoral fins, and a spot on his mouth. White. Hasn't moved - so I'm thinking Lymph. But I also see white poop on the bottom of the QT tank that is long an curly. So wouldn't that be worms? I have one other fish in the QT - a coral beauty. He's looking great. Swims around like a madman all the time. Both eat great (mysis).

Any thoughts on how I might tackle?

can you possibly take pictures of both the poop and the fish? - kali

The poop broke up when I moved the sponge filter. But it was longer before. I think it’s poop at least.

the spots do look like lymph to me. The poop honestly looks normal to me, but just in case you can do a fw dip and a round of prazipro - kali

Well unfortunately my royal gramma died this morning. We were observing him over the past few days. He stopped eating, and hid almost all the time. Last night under close observation we noticed a lot more very small spots on him, and also some on the coral beauty which is also in the QT. The coral beauty has been eating well, and neither did any scraping. But looking closely, I think they might have velvet. Looks like a loss of color, a lot of very small white dots (not salt like, oval shaped, or protruding much) and sort of a coating on the coral beauties face.

I made the decision to dose copper power, and am working that up to 2.5 PMM (currently 2.2) The coral beauty has slowed down considerably and is breathing heavier. I have a big sponge filter, and a few biomedia and a sponge in the aquaclear, but no carbon. I also plan to dose some metroplex with focus as I've read that can be used with copper and can treat worms etc (noticed a few more stringy poops).

Salinity is 1.025. I might drop that a bit. Once I get the copper to 2.5 - my understanding is the clock starts for 30 days? Is that right? Also Once i have gotten this taken care of, I plan to just QT my next fish with copper power right off the bat. Would you recommend I dump all the water, clean the tank with fresh for 48 hours to kill any parasites left, and then start over with a new QT?

Thanks - this is a bummer.

Unfortunately the coral beauty died as well. I tried. Copper and metroplex in his food. He was still eating well. Sucks. Velvet got him. Soooo. Now I guess I clean th qt and start all over.
