Any idea of what this fish is and if it should be in reef tank?

Yup, it's a squirrel. They are reef safe with the same precautions as with any predator. They won't bother the coral but they have been known to eat some small fish, crabs, snails, etc. Just something to keep in mind. They can grow rather large.

As others mentioned, it’s a squirrelfish, but there is also the candy stripe cardinal fish that is almost identical but doesn’t get nearly as large.

True, if you simply like the look, the cardinal may be a better option.

Have caught them in the Caribbean on bait for much bigger fish, and they do get big.
There are several captive bred cardinals,, closely related that are much better tank mates that do well in pairs, and will spawn as well

They are also a nocturnal fish that enjoy caves and overhangs.
