I searched for a main thread bit didn't find one specific. Can I get an id on this guy.

That’s not a wrasse, it’s either a Gramma species or a Pseudochromis species. I would say it’s a Pseudochromis yamasakii which is a relatively new fish from Japan discovered in October of 2016.

I agree with this. Def a pseudochromis. My guess on species is the Brown Dottyback (Pseudochromis fuscus).

I mixed up yamasakii with fuscus I agree with you.
 
He was in a tank with a royal gramma and between the 2 have destroyed everything in it. Fish was definitely a pain to catch. Thanks for the help.
