Hello! Picked this one from LFS on Saturday but not sure which species it belongs to...behaves like an Anthias but could not find a close match in the web. Looks fat and healthy, started to grab food from the water column. Please help me identify it ? Thanks a lot in advance...

Whoa, this one’s new for me.. how is it sleeping? If you can visibly see a mucous cocoon/ if it burrows at night it’s likely a wrasse of some sort. Maybe @eatbreakfast or @evolved could chime in.. if it’s not some kind of wrasse, then I’d also guess it to be some species of anthias.

Fusilier damsel, Lepidozygous tapeinosoma. It's a damsel that behaves like an anthias.

Thanks a lot @eatbreakfast! The coral beauty is bullying it a bit but from the way it was holding back and darting around it does give the impression of a being a no-nonsense fish imo...it was a pale silver with a bit of yellow on the back at the LFS. Maybe this dark coloration a sign of stress or the other way around?

Thanks a lot @eatbreakfast! It probably will outgrow my 55g in short time[emoji1]! Lepidozygous don't grow very large, it should be fine in a 55g.

Pale coloration is stress coloring, the darker coloring is normal.
