Found this guy barely alive on the beach in the Dominican Republic, tried to help him with no luck. Anyone know what it is?

Pretty sure it's a file fish, just not sure of the variety.

Looks like a white spotted filefish.

On another note, I googled yellow fin filefish and apparently it's a delicacy lol

Yup looks to be a filefish, white spotted looks like a strong guess!

The file fin is indicative. Common name/genera is pretty doable for most, id be challenged with species or latin name. Cool fish too bad he didnt make it

Yep, White Spotted File fish. They get huge. Really common fish in the Caribbean. Took the video of this pair in Cozumel back in August. Every time you see a pair only one has the white spots. the other has the solid color side.
