I picked this up today along with a Green Coris Wrasse. The LFS says it’s an Anthias. I think wrasse. Anyone know?

Female C. cf. pylei. It's a fairy wrasse.

So this must be a juvenile? I can’t find any pics of Pylei (Sunset) Wrasses that look like this could turn into the look of the photo. The Yellowfin looks closer. I’ll see if I can get a better pic...

What would be a reasonable cost? I paid $16.

Good price but my exp with male adult pylei is that they can be quite an butt, slightly better than a 6line.

It may end up sold or in my 240g if it gets out of hand. I normally research before buying, but I was not sure what I was getting. The guy at the LFS was insisting it was an Anthias but I was pretty sure it was some kind of wrasse.

Sad that a fish store would think that’s an Anthias.

Agreed. There had been a Purple Anthias in the same tank (was still written in marker) but it wasn’t in there.

Most of the pictures you'll see will be mature males but as eatbreakfast says this is a female C. Cf pylei so you have to look for more subtle differences.
