I have 370 in a credit for live stock and decided on do I get a fish that I personally would never purchase on my own or a few to a lot of fish and I need ideas. I do have a some what peaceful 400 gallon system and have my 2 angles, 2 maroons, a bird wrasse (male), lyretail anthias (female), moorish idol, and a bunch of tangs. In corals I have a bunch of softies and anemones. Any ideas?

One of my favorites is the Cuban hogfish... Should be fine with your other fish... I had one and he never bothered corals either.

My biased opinion would be to get a mandarin but you might never see it in such a large system :p .Maybe something that will hopefully school like some more anthias? Do you like clownfish? I would love to have a harem of clowns if I had such a huge tank.

I would look into some kind of schooling fish if I were you, e.g. adding more anthias like others already suggested.
Other than that, I really like One Spot Foxface, but my tank is too small for one.

I’d get an aussie harlequin tusk, a poma lab bred angel (personifier would be my choice), a pair of blue throat triggers, or a trio of geniacanthus angels (though that may be above the credit depending on species)

@btackerman
i would get more anthias
add a zebrasoma tang (i like purple), a acanthurus or paracanthus (u have a blue as it seems so get a naso)
and it looks like u have a ctenochaetus
I would also get a Echidna moray (something like barred, skeletor)
and a lionfish
(radiata, antennata, mombassa, zebra)
wouldnt do the biggest might get ur anthias and plus the bigger ones lik volitans are also more aggressive
and finally a peaceful trigger
form the xanthichthys genus
maybe also a wrasse from the thalassoma or halichoeres genus

My only fear is I have a mated pair of maroons and my female is very aggressive. Don’t want to throw away money on clowns that won’t even have a chance.

I love lion fish but unfortunately I am in Florida and finding one at a decent price is not easy. Last time I saw a volitan it was close to 300. It would most likely be more at my lfs now.

That’s true that it would be risky but if anyone could do it, it would be with a large system if you wanted to!

If you want a lion fish in Florida jump in the water with a slurp gun, then it’s free and you’re doing a good thing by taking it out of an environment in which it’s invasive :).
