Hello…
Trying to ID the smaller fish. The 1st one is a Rabbitfish. I’m having trouble with the other. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

One of the 'mimics.' This one is Acanthurus pyroferus, probably from Palau. This species mimics either lemonpeel or half-black, depending on location. The other mimic is A. tristis, which mimics C. eibli instead.

This right here and it looks to have mimic'd the Half Black angel. Beautiful fish btw and one of my favorites in my 180. The blue that develops at the edges of the fins just shines once it comes in all the way.

Acanthurus Chronixis to me, you have 3 Acanthurus tangs that mimic different angels, two mimic half blacks.

You also have A. chronixis that also mimics the half-black Angel! Also, A. Pyroferus mimics three angels not just two, it mimics the Heralds, the Lemon Peel and the Half-Blacks. A. tristis only mimics the Eibli Angel and A. Chronixis only mimics the half-Black so you have to be careful when buying a Half-Black Mimic Tang because unless you know what to look for you could get a pyroferus being labelled as a chronixis.

So there are some differences between the two “Half-Black Mimic Tangs” however there are slightly more differences as adults! Here’s all three mimics as adults.
