Hi all just wondering your thought on having fish in a frag tank I have set my new frag tank up a week ago and not sure wether to add a couple small fish thanks in advance

Is this a stand alone frag tank or connected to your main display?

I would definately add a tang for algae and for the poop! Small wrasse in case there are any critters

Hi it is a stand alone tank and is only 80 litres so to small for a tang any other suggestions to fish cheers

I have a single damsel in a 20 gallon stand alone frag tank. Good way to get a little nutrients into the system...

Just put a 12-Line Wrasse in my 20 gallon frag tank yesterday. It's nice to have something swimming in there IMO...pest control is a bonus!

Ok great thanks for all your replies guys il let you know what I go for in the end

A springeri damsel would also work well.

I had a nudibranch problem in my frag tank, so I picked up a yellow coris wrasse and he went to town......no more nudis. I also found a tiny tomini tang and the two of them are great. Just the right balance of fish poo for my zoas.

Wrasses!!!!!
I have a flasher in the 20, a mystery in the 15, and a 6 line in the 25

I have a small yellow tang for algae and a sixline wrasse for potential pests in my 60g deep blue frag tank

Yellow eye kole tang and a pink streak wrasse. Basically a small tang or blenny and a reef safe wrasse is what I would ultimately suggest but seeing as this is the DT I would want a tang and blenny and wrasse

Yes if it's standalone. Add some fish for the bio. And to treat certain issues. Algae. Pests. Etc

What is the fragtank mainly for? SPS LPS? Will you be feeding heavy?
If it is for SPS, I would do a wrasse or something like that to assist with pests. I wouldn't bother with a tang or blenny for algae. Nutrients shouldn't be that high.
If LPS and you plan on feeding the corals heavily, then maybe get something for algae. Play it by ear.

just a piece of advice....maybe dont get a blenny/tang until you actually have algae lol
I got a blenny and hes so skinny because I have no algae in there for him to eat :(

Kinda what I was touching on when I said play it by ear.
Receiving clean plugs is a big deal to me as a customer. Starting off with a small CUC would be a good idea.

I agree about the plugs. of the 3 or 4 places Ive ordered online, only 1 has ever been consistently clean-thats who I order from the most :)
