Hi all,

I just added a coral beauty from my QT finally! The goober scratched it's head on a rock almost immediately after joining my DT. I have zero faith in being able to catch it. 150g Deep DT. It's behavior is normal and is eating. Should I medicate food or just observe? Argh sorry I am a newbie. After all my hard work in QT and the little turd does this...

Hi Amber,

I would just observe at this point. It's likely that the wound will heal and the fish will be fine. However if you do start to see issues with it, you'll have to catch her and quarantine and treat for infection.

I agree, watch and wait... feed lots of good food, soaked with vitamins if possible.

If it starts to look like it’s becoming infected (red or white discoloration around wound - unlikely though, it should take care of itself) you will need to pull him, give an acriflavine bath, and transfer to QT for abx.
