Ok so i recently noticed my clown fish look really milky. Nothing new for months. No major changes. However i did rearrange my corals a bit and some rock. Nothing really major but moved a huge leather around. Could this be just stress? I bought ich medicine but havent added anything new they could have gotten it from. Im lost never experienced this before. No pics trying to get them to hold still. Just my clownfish, blenny has no signs of it inverts all look fine. My water is coming back with its normal parameters.

Could be brook. Is your fish still eating? Not eating is a big sign of the fish’s overall health. The “milky” look is what makes me think it’s possibly brooklynella. Without pictures it’s tough to tell but research it a bit more. Good luck!

any other parameters off ? a subtle change could definitely bring about a "rise" in any disease or whatever.

They are eating fine. Could they have caught brook some how if nothing has been added recently. Last thing was an anemone but that was 5 months ago.
Looks like stress discoloration. is the white "milky" appear to be peeling or sloughing off?

No all my parameters are the same as usual. I am going to monitor them. It happened maybe 10 minutes after i moved my coral during lunch. When i came home from work they were super white black clown was so white almost couldnt see his stripes. They havent gotten any worse almost seem to be getting color back. Strangest thing.

Thats what i was guessing. Never happened to me before. However my change today altered the tank layout a good amount.

Keep a close eye on it the next couple weeks and If they continue to eat well and color/behavior normalizes then you're good.
Good to hear! One other thing I can think of that can cause fish to fade/change color is rapid temperature change. Not sure how long you worked on your tank but was power off while you rearranged things? Have you checked to make sure your heater is working properly? Just a thought.

So fish are doing great now. Wouldn't have even known something was wrong. Guessing it was stress, maybe something on my arm? Not sure but anyway problem seems to be solved. Thanks for the help everyone, definitely learned a ton from this scare.

Ok... a few things...
"My water is coming back with its normal parameters" is vague. We who are trying to help you don't know what your normal parameters are. And what is "normal" to you may not be good for your fish, so, I'd ask that you post your most current test results.
The "milky" description is consistent with the description of powdered sugar, a symptom of Brooklynella, an illness often seen in clownfish.
How long have you had the clownfish?
Do you quarantine your fish before they go in to display or do they go from bag to display?
Have you recently added anything to the tank in the last two weeks?

All i test in my tank is ph ammonia nitrate and nitrite. My ph was 8.1 others were at 0. Thats normal readings for my tank ph swing between 8.0 to 8.2 nothing new added and fish were not quarantined the black one has been in a year maybe more the orange has been in for about 2 years. I did a big change in my aquascape when i noticed the clownfish issue. It went away really fast why i think it may have been stress, maybe something on my hand or arm that stressed them out. So far they are like nothing ever happened. They never stopped eating really or acted like they had issues swimming or breathing. Unsure really what happened.
