Just a reminder to everyone about keeping their covers intact on their tanks.

I just fed my fish yesterday and had not replaced the feeding lid on my clearview cover. While talking with my wife I heard a splash and caught a glimpse of something flying out of my tank. I ran over and found my Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse flipping around on my carpet. I quickly put him back in the tank and he appears fine.

I've seen some threads recently about jumping fish. And I have lost a few myself this way. Didn't worry so much about the small feeding opening. Super glad I witnessed this and a reminder to keep the tank covered.

Glad you were there!
Congrats on a good save.
:-)

We lost 2 yellow 'coris' wrasse and a pintail over a years time just from the feeding lids being open and walking away from the tank for a few minutes. Getting distracted can be costly to the fish. :-/

I lost a flame hawkfish through a 1/2"x3" gap in the back of my last tank, they sure can find the openings! I'm glad it happened when you were around to return it home!
