So I’m noticing my fish only die when I do water changes, could I be doing something wrong?

What’s the temperature of the water in the tank and the temperature of the new water?

I lost 5-6 fish because my water temperature dropped to between 10-15 degrees C (50-59 Degrees F) too quickly. It sent them into shock and later they died. This was during a tank transition and then the ammonia had a spike in my 4’ tank and unfortunately I lost all of them. Only things that survived were Yuma mushrooms (Dang things are taking over again! I bet I could grow them in a bucket in one of the Ice caps) and a Chilli coral (Now dying for some reason - All my parameters are stable and he was thriving for something like 4-6 years).

well, this is at least a clue, and something to go off of. where do you get your water? i think you mentioned at one point that you get it from the LFS?
assumiung that you get it from the LFS, i personally would avoid their water. if you are certain that there seems to be a cause of death, only after you do a change, its hard to refute it as a reason. first thing tthat pops in my head is maybe chlorine in the water, but you would think it would affect all fish, but i would agree with the above. get your own rodi unit, and avoid that possible issue altogether, and then you have water whenever you need it. nothing crazy that you have to do either. the BRS systems come with faucet attachments where you dont have to alter any kind of pipes even. if you have to use their water, use some seachem prime or equivalent before putting it in the tank

I am from Charlotte NC. I do not remember if I bought fish from C Mac, but I can recommend a LFS that is good and most people working there know what they are doing and care about the fish. I bought almost all my fish from Nemo Reef and I did not get sick fish. Try that LFS next time.
It seems you added too many fish too fast, and also did not wait to solve why your first fish died, before adding more. I usually add only 2 small fish at a time. I also have the store check my water before buying some. I followed their advise if they tell me I have to change my water or wait before doing something, and it has paid off. But I do not have corals.

If I had velvet wouldn't all my fish be dead

I would need to see it open to fathom a guess, but that said I’m bad at nems anyway.

That’s why it might not be velvet.

Some fish can have resistance, firefish are extremely disease hardy. Either way, the parasite eventually hits numbers too high to fight off and even the toughest of fish succumb.

The fish dying after water changes suggests that that is your prime issue here.

also, the hefty diseases like velvet, you tend to know that its a disease. there would be significant signs of it generally. so significant that you would have a hard time seeing past there being something visibly wrong

Were the fins tattered before it died? Did you notice any visible aggression from other fish?

No they was in good condition, Christmas wrasses seems a Lil aggressive and the jewel Damsel is aggressive

No sir no white hazy look, I watched the all eat last night, left house 530 this morning came home around 430 fish was dead

I was just watching as the lights were off, coral beauty and jewel damsel attack clownfish,,clownfish trying to fight back

mindlessly adding fish is not going to fix the problem you need to run fallow for 76 days
