Fish Keep Dying!!

Your cycle may of stalled when you had small ammonia spike, you say you did 25%water change,
Do you have any chemical ammonia to test to see if aquarium is fully cycled, just second guessing
Yes I did a 25% water change.
I did not have any chemical ammonia

I don't see alot of surface agitation or powerhead. Is that a skimmer you have ? Your PH is kinda low at 7.8. Get a Red Sea Ammonia test kit . and a copper test kit. something in the water isn't right. a fish can live in a bag for 48 hrs.

if ammonia was the issue wouldn't he have noticed his fish struggling first prior to death?

I was wondering about 02 levels. What do you use for flow and water agitation at the surface just the filter dropping water back in?
The only thing that is agitating is the canister filter in the back as well as the surface skimmer. I have bought a wave maker but for this small of a tank it was causing a lot of turbulence so currently looking for one this size. However, none of my fish have tried to swim at the surface for air

It seems you may have introduced diseased fish to the tank.

thanks. found an article about the device. API Lamotte makes it. wonder how accurate that device really is. is it saying your Mag is 1701? what salt are you using? what salinity? RODI water?

The phosphate part is not sensitive enough for saltwater

I don’t know if it’s my canister filter? My sand/rocks? Water? Oxygen levels?

were the fish in the bag for 2-3 hours without flow?

I never leave them that long in a bag. I only acclimate 30 min if salinity is close.

If salinity is NOT close and I had to do a long drip, then I would put in air stone in a bucket for them.

Your other thread you posted said that your ammonia was .25 when you had your fish in the tank and they were not eating If that is accurate then the ammonia poisoning is most likely your cause unless you added more fish after your initial post here. It is better to only keep one thread going for clarity.

I understand but I have never cycled an aquarium using seachem, ghost feeding or without using a electronic testing kit within 6 weeks, if you suggest O2 levels then removal of pipe/airline from surface skimmer will reduce the amount of O2 being introduced as this I am familiar with, I did not question you about this

The fish are breathing very fast. Something is wrong.

Could be low oxygen, this could be from sitting in a bag with no flow for hours as well.

Could be a rapid parasite like velvet (my guess right now is something else but need for info)

Could be high ammonia

How long have you had these fish?

Is your snails/CUC alive?

My snails/CUC are alive.

it could be high ammonia as I just tested and it was showing 0.25 that is why i immediate dosed with Prime. I have had these fish for 5 days.

It may help to cover all the tank sides until the fish are comfortable in their new environment. It is possible the stress on the fish has been too great, from initial collection and to your tank, that contributed to them dying.

You mentioned they didn't eat. How long was that? I had a two spot blenny that was emaciated a while back. It didn't make it more than 3 days from receiving it.

I often order fish online and found I had more success if I were to put the new fish into something that would allow them to settle down for a few days. I feed heavy with frozen so as not to over pollute the water - I read somewhere that frozen food is mostly water so there isn't much to foul the water or as fast. I would observe the fish by removing a panel cover but put it back when done. I certainly have killed many specimens before. I hope this may help next time. GL

I got it thank you.

Thank you. Definitely

What's your diagnoses @Lavey29 :)

Multiple possibilities but I'm learning towards an uncycled tank, adding to many fish at once, ammonia poisoning and possibly 02 issues also and of course there is always the possibility the clown had brook. His tank needs a do over with a fallow period and then add one easy fish to begin with and test everything out. Definitely needs some kind of surface agitation also for gas exchange.
