Hi,

I currently have a 32 gallon bio cube turning 2 years old next month. I would like to go a little bigger and plan on starting a RS reefer 350 later this summer (curing rock currently in a brute 55 gallon). I plan to quarantine all fish and add them over time. This is my wish list and the order I would like to add to the tank. Please let me know if this would work, any that I should not add, not compatible, suggestions, etc.

Banggaii Cardinal
Fire fish
Lawnmower Blenny
2 occ black/white clowns
Fairy wrasse
Flasher wrasse
Kole tang

Thanks in advance for your wisdom and advice :)

A little over a year ago I started my first saltwater tank. 55 gallons. I'm currently upgrading to a 75 gallon. I was warned off from getting a Kole Tang by several people. 90% of everyone said do not get a Tang, even if you plan to upgrade in a year you need a six foot long tank. The other 10% said "get a Tomini Tang or a Kole Tang and you should be fine for a few years". I listened to the 10% and regretted it. I bought a Kole Tang and he was my favorite fish. Happy, swam around with my clowns, and he was such a stunning looking fish. However, soon enough he started to grow and just looked unhappy. Darted around the tank over and over again, and began fighting with his previous "friends". I came home several times and saw slice marks across some of my fish. He eventually bullied a fish to death, and then ended up dying from his own wounds (and then was attacked by a Bobbit worm but that's a different story lol).

I'm almost done with my build out with my 75 Gallon and I'm looking to add some new fish. I will not put a tang in there of any kind. Even in a 90 I feel that's too small for them after owning one. I am however looking to add a dwarf angel of some kind, as they seem much more suited for that size tank.

Long story short. If you get a Kole Tang, he will grow up and be unhappy which will also cause your other tank mates to not be happy.

Thank you for sharing your experience . Sorry for your losses. I definitely don’t want to stress or kill fish.
