Greeting Everyone,
Newbie here. Just sold my 125g and will be setting up my 265g in two weeks. Still new to the hobby (less than 6 months) but I'm hooked. What do you think about my list? Is it to much of a load and what order should I add?

Yellow Tank
Blue Hippo
Naso Tang
Six Line Wrasse
Solar Wrasse
Flame Angel
Koran Angel
Foxface
Clown(2)
Firefish(2)
Convict Blenny(2)
Watchman Goby
Green Clown Goby
Blue/green Chromis (5)
Dispar Anthias(3)

Thoughts?

A yellow tank will look sick! jk. But Maybe it would. :p

Welcome Btw!

Your list looks good. Maybe someone will see a problem since i haven't kept a few of these. Good luck!

Definitely not to many for 265g. I recommend adding sciddish fish like fire fish first. Also make sure you get fish like tang at the same timeto keep the peace. fire fish, and clowns should be mailed pairs but with a tank that big it may not matter. It's interesting how similar your list is to mine. Well I have about 1/2 as many fish being I only have 90g. Do you plan to have coral? If so some angles can nip.

Thanks! We'll just let it mimic the sick part. LOL!

You must have good taste. Haven't decided on doing coral...so that means yes. LOL!

I recommend coral. It's supper gratifying having an entire ecosystem but also frustrating and exspencize. it does dominate your free time. so if you want a supper cool peace of decore that costs as much as the rest of your furniture combined. It's amazingly worth it. Lol

If u are going to have coral, then the Koran Angel is a no go. Not reef safe at all.

Sixline wrasses can become quite aggressive toward other wrasses.

Unless they are a bonded pr, firefish eventually kill one another.

Koran is definitely a coral eater.

Add tangs last.

YWG are generally really reclusive (had one in a tank I didnt see for two years). The Randall's have been the most bold of the shrimp gobies I've ever had and tend to be visible often. Just something else to think about.

So would the Christmas wrasse be a better choice?

I would echo the concerns on the koran angel and sixline wrasse. A christmas wrasse would be better behaved with the other fish, but might eat shrimp and snails. A fairy wrasse or flasher wrasse would be your safest choice.

You may also want to reconsider the clown goby. They are very tiny and you would probably not even notice it in such a big tank. They are also known to nip at sps corals if you plan to add them in the future.

A Christmas wrasse would be be a better choice, though there are a few species that go by that common name. The red Christmas, H. biocellatus would be the best choice of the Christmas wrasses.

I'm stuck with the goby[emoji15]

Two you may want to add to your list:
  • Melanurus Wrasse (very peaceful, looks cool, and feasts on flatworms)
  • Copperband Butterfly (tough animal to keep but it is peaceful, looks cool, and eats aptaisia).
I'm in the process of converting my tank into an SPS-dominant tank so I can have angels. So far I have an Emperor, Rock Beauty, and a Lyretail Angel. On my wish list is a Regal, Scribbled, Goldflake & Flame.

Thank you! I'll check them out.
