Hi everyone today I lost my first fish ever due to it jumping out of my tank )): so sad, does anyone have any recommendations for a good top that doesn’t block out light ?

Easy and cheap to make your own. Home Depot do-it-yourself aluminum window screen kit + 1/4" plastic mesh. And or eggcrate with 1/4" plastic mesh zip tied to the eggcrate. You can see both in the pic below. The eggcrate on the left is on the back of the tank which makes running hoses, lines, etc. real easy; the window screen is the majority of the tank cover which makes it real easy for cleaning, feeding, etc. to remove/move as needed. Hope this helps a bit. ;)

I have Octolids and it's worth it to me. They are a little heavier and larger or more vigorous jumpers like wrasse are not able to push the lid up. Not likely with the aluminum frame versions but it can happen.

You can get the aluminum frames at any hardware store and they are not difficult to do. Getting the netting stretched evenly is the most difficult part.
