This is a result of trauma, not disease, right?

I sure hope so. Quarantining my first new fish after a fallow period and learning a few lessons about quarantine/patience. Brought home a pair of diamond gobies and a black clown over the weekend and got them in qt. They seemed happy and healthy enough so I did the first dose of prazipro yesterday. Then today I come home to this. I did notice them tussling a little bit yesterday, so I’m hoping it’s a result of that and not yet another disease.

The redness would indicate either Uronema or a bacterial infection.

Do the other fish have any symptoms?

No. They all seemed completely fine. The other two still do.

He would have had to go from no visible symptoms or behaviors to dead in the time I was at work today. One of them was definitely acting very territorial toward the other yesterday evening, so I was just assuming it must be trauma since it happened so quick with no other symptoms.

I would be treating the remainder with Metro in the water and food just to be sure. In the first pic it almost looks like where you can see the start of a sore (Uronema)on his side. The only way to know for sure is a microscope.

+1^ I don’t see anything on the second fish myself, but I wouldn’t take any chances with uronema [emoji33] If it gets in your DT, it’s not easy or painless to get out...

I don’t know anything about Uronema. Can it go from the healthy looking fish in the last pic to dead like the first pic in 8 hours?

I will definitely do a prophylactic treatment of metro to be safe. I’m out, but already had some on the way before this happened.

Uronema can actually take a fish without any outward symptoms at all. Usually by the time there are visual outward symptoms it's too late.

You also will want to treat through food as well at the water.

Add one scoop metro and one scoop focus per tablespoon of prepared food. This will cover the internal component as well.

How much/often do I need to feed them to be effective?
