SCIENTIFIC NAME - Pterois mombasae

COMMON NAME - Deepwater Lionfish (Mombasa Turkeyfish, Mile's Lionfish)

SIZE - 6.3" (16 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 30 US Gal. (114 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING - Meaty foods, marine fish, crustacean flesh, live Grass shrimp, feeder fish, marine fare live and frozen for carnivores. Feed 3-4 times a week.

REEF COMPATIBILITY - Will eat shrimp and smaller fishes.

CAPTIVE CARE - Acclimates to captivity well, must have plenty of hiding places, More than one can be kept as long as each has their own hiding places, will eat any fish in the aquarium small enough to fit into its mouth. Best kept in dimly lit tanks, however, can be kept in deep or shallow reef tanks. CAUTION - THIS FISH IS VENOMOUS.
