Hi All,
Do you use Phycology on your fish, sometimes to change/improve health or behavior.
I believe you can depending on which fish you keep and temperament .
Example 1 : A few years ago I had a large Lipstick Tang which I had for several months, and for some reason stopped eating ( all water levels were good). After thinking that these are schooling fish, thought what I could do to turn this around. I set up a small tank nothing in it just heating and filtration. I drew three large Lipstick Tangs on paper and surrounded the tank. You wouldn't believe it but the next day he started eating again. I returned him to the tank the next day.

Example 2 : When you try to introduce a new fish that may get bullied, you'd move the rocks around therefore tricking them all in believing that they're in a new inviroment.

Your thoughts.

Psychology of fish is of course a real thing, I've heard lots of interesting stories and witnessed some strange things!

My blonde naso hates my guts after two years with me no matter how much I feed she will not show herself when she knows I am around. My daughter and wife? No big deal. Grr

My koi would come to the surface when I would walk past but if a friend came round they never came to the surface

Same here. My fish will come out like dogs for food for me or husband, but hide for almost anyone else.

I also had a yellow coris wrasse that would attack the tank if I wore a specific shade of red. Fish are funny. My wrasses have always had great quirks and personalities.
