Fish poop?

I am wondering if these little black things on my gravel are fish poop or something else? I have good filitration (two over the back filters and a canister filter) in a 55 gallon tank. I don’t over feed. I have snails and hermit crabs so I can’t imagine this could all be fish feces. Any thoughts?

Looks like algae. Siphon bedding and add a few Nassarius and nerite snails

The only way to know for sure is to taste it. If it has an almondy taste then yes. Of course it can depend on what you’re feeding it. Fish poop from fish eating frozen can have a hint of cashew.
