I currently have a 10 gallon waterbox freshwater tank nothing but rocks since I’ve been cycling for a week now I was wondering what plants I should get as well as peaceful fish I have had freshwater tanks before but it’s been awhile

for plants there are some nice macro algae that can be displayed but I'm not too sure on those

For peaceful fish here are what I could recommend but not all together
a single fire goby (two will kill each other if not a pair)
coralgoby
not sure but a yellow assessor
again not sure but a gramma

Unclear - though its a saltwater site - whether you're asking about freshwater or saltwater plants. Its fairly common to get freshwater questions here:).... Welcome either way.

I’m taking about a freshwater fish tank and what plants I should put in there

I thought your tank was saltwater from the initial post.

For freshwater a school of neon tetras can look good in a planted tank. Amazon swords and anubias are some of my faveroute easy freshwater plants

I have 2 tanks one is saltwater but the other is freshwater

Amazon swords, java ferns, white ribbons are all really nice freshwater plants. Fairly easy to grow as well. I'm also a fan of the grasses. As for fish, there aren't a ton of freshwater or saltwater fish that will do well in that small of a tank. Off the top of my head, glow fish, any tetras, 1 beta unless partitioned, then 2, barbs like the tiger, or dwarf gouramis. With that being said, most of those are fairly territorial so you can't stock it very much. I believe theres also a few south american cichlids (small), and african cichlids (also the smaller varieties) that you can place in the tank. Cichlids tend to be very angry for no reason at all, and WILL pull up your plants and dig like nobodies business.

I have a 56 gallon fw tank stocked with a variety of oddballs, including SA and African cichlids. Most people will tell you not to mix the two because of the aggression, (much more so from the Africans than the SA). But if you do it when they are young and overstock your tank to spread the aggression, it will be fine.

In my honest opinion though, I wouldn't do much more than a smallish school of tetras in a tank that size.

I appreciate the advice but I’ve done tons of research on fish so I’m only sticking with peaceful ones as for plants I’ll look into the ones you listed

These were all growing nicely, embedded in the fertilizer under the substrate, until they dug in and tore them out. You can also see huge dunes they've dug. Once the plants are floating they decided to rip them apart. I usually replant and recover the substrate daily.

Another stocking idea I've just had is a single axolotl. Good for 10g and super easy to care for!

Nice picture what kind of plant is that

Those are amazon swords. Maybe 10 bucks at petsmart. They're about 18 inches long. Or were. They've terrorized these 2 plants in particular, so they're nubs right now. I like them alot. The cichlids don't like these two, but I've got 7 in the tank. They nibble at them all, which is fine with me. Good use of nitrates as well. Pretty low maintenance. If I could go back, I wouldn't get cichlids. I want a grassy meadow so badly but everytime I've tried they've ruined it.

I also like duckweed on top of the tank, lillies are nice as well. Kinda gives the tank a rolling cloud look when the lillies go between the lights and water.
