A question that has nothing to do with saltwater I currently own a 10 gallon freshwater water box Aquarium fish are as follows 3 herlequin rasboras 2 gold tetras 1 neon tetra 3 Cory Dora catfish I was wondering if I can put a beta fish in there with them

You might get lucky with the nicest beta in the world but I would expect a royal rumble.

I think you will be fine. Male Betta will be a problem with similar looking fish such as male fancy guppies.

Is there any specific kind i should be looking for like a peaceful female maybe considering I’ve never had one

IMO I would only get a male betta due to their beautiful colors and long tails. I have a male copper betta with neons and a Cory cat in a 10 gallon and all is well.

If you're taking all opinions, I would increase the number of all species that you have to 6+. They are all social and schooling fishes. Then if the tank still looks like it needs something, think about the betta.

Ok thanks for the advice I will definitely think about the beta
