Hey all,

Detailed thread information here: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/an-old-hand-in-a-new-world-im-14g-peninsula-nano-reef.732780/

Long and short is seeking $.02 on compatibility of a Yellow "Coris" w/ a pair of Ocellaris in the tank dimensions shared, with expectation of an upgrade in size in a couple years, and intention to acquire a 1-1.5" juvenile. Alternative fish recs welcome; I primarily want to keep the amphipod population in check before it becomes a problem; I'll be routinely seeding the tank with copepods and other benthic organisms, so am not worried about cost or requirements to keep those populations re-seeded, supported, and grazing food sources replenished (plus the current population is both very healthy and well supported by the fuge).

Thanks in advance!

I am not sure why you would want to limit amphipods. They are self sustaining and are one of the best cleaners out there and don't harm anything. Anyways, the yellow coris doesn't necessarily need pods and what not since they will readily take to frozen. However, I think something like a sixline would be a better choice for that size since you would need to swap the coris out for a smaller one more than once.

I'm quite concerned the amphipods will damage as many zoas as I'm populating, especially given I'm controlling nutrient pretty tightly. I know this is a mega ancient debate. And I'm perfectly happy to have and constantly reseed Copepods. Thoughts?

No they won't I think that concern comes from the idea of people seem them and see zoas, then assume they are causing x. Also what do you mean by controlling nutrient tightly (as in what range)?

Yeah I've looked with favor at the Pygmies. Can you compare/contrast them and the yellow for me?

I haven't kept a pink streak but they are very passive fish and popular for that reason as its cousin the sixline is much more territorial and aggressive. They yellows just seem to go about and mind there own business (unless you got another yellow or similar in which it would fight).

I have a 13.5 g and put a possum in, I have no idea if it is alive or not, I would go pink streak.
