I have a 180Gal mixed reef. I have a blonde naso tang, hipo tang, blue carribbean tang, purple tang, gold head goby, lubbocks wrasse, yellow coris wrasse, cleaner wrasse and a gold stripe maroon clown.

What would you recommend I could add to this? I tried a ornate leopard wrasse but I think the yellow coris killed it.

Thanks,
Jim

Pretty much with all new fish you want to use an acclimation box for a few days so the current fish are used to the new fish. With your ornate it may still be alive but buried in the sand. They go into the sand when stressed out or to sleep. Even the most passive fish will become aggressive if they feel their territory is threatened. So if there is a fish you like, research to see if it is compatible if your tank and its inhabitants and use acclimation box.

Agreed that using a social acclimation box will be imperative, especially since you have a few tangs and established wrasses.

Other wrasses, a group of hardier anthis, such as squammipinnis or bartletts, a Genicanthus sp of angel, midas blenny, a flame or longnose hawkfish, a purple tilefish, are a few of the possibilities that exist.

Nope he's gone fished him out of the tank yesterday when I got home from work. The reason I think the yellow coris killed him is that I had him and the cleaner in my QT tank for 4 weeks prior to putting them in the DT. I even put them in early in the morning when the lights were out. I did see the coris chasing him around a lot for the week he was in the DT.

You definitely need a flame or longnose hawk, I couldn't agree more!

As I was reading I was thinking the longnose hawk as well. I think a foxface is always a nice addition

An acclimation box will limit this type of aggression.
