My 90 gallon tank is a few months old now and doing very well. I have a agnificent foxface, 3 blue green chromis, yellow watchman Goby, Yasha Goby, 2 OC clowns, and 2 pajama cardinals I also have handful of softies and LPS along with 2 cleaner shrimp and some assorted snails. What are some good next options? I'd really like a long nose hawk but from what I have read can be hit or miss with eating other critters. Purple dottybacks are up there as well. Any other recommendations? Looking for interesting colorful fish. Tia

I like the leopard wrasses, it's fun to watch them hunt pods and then burrow into the sand to fall asleep, they normally don't eat any shrimp or crabs or anything. You could look at adding a tang, yellow, tomini, or Kole eye. Could had a basslet of some sort as well, although with my experience the Basselts end up hiding the rocks a lot but are fun to watch poking out for a quick snack. Wouldn't suggest adding all of these fish, but a few examples to take a look at.

For inverts, you could had a pistol shrimp to pair up with the Goby, I have one paired with my Yasha goby and it's fun to watch them interact together. if you can have a little rock island in a good viewing place and dig a litttle start to a burrow under it when you put the shrimp in you should be able to watch them better and they will hopefully not end up at the back of the tank.

My gf loves watching the urchins I have move around, the pincushion has some good colors to it.

I added a coral banded shrimp when I added my Yasha they were a bonded pair. That was about 6 weeks ago and I haven't seen the shrimp since I added them. No idea if it's alive or not.

Coral banded shrimp don't create symbiotic relationships, pistol shrimp on the other hand do.

Must have been a pistol then. I got them as a bonded pair from divers den.

Flame bawkfish and melanarus wrasse won't disappoint!

Won't the hawk fish mess with my shrimp and any other small fish?

The Melanarus will, from my experience. I don't know if the hawkfish would...
I've never had a melanarus or hawkfish mess with any shrimp-- but it's certainly possible. Larger shrimp are almost certainly safe.

Maybe a black cap basslet

Just provide some hiding places and it will soon swim freely in the open from my experience. And, my long nose hawk hasn't bothered any inverts that I've notice during four months I've had him; just likes to sit on a rock or coral and watch the world go by.

I've had a flame hawk with a coral banded shrimp for 3 months now and haven't had any issues. Keep the hawk fed and you shouldn't have any issues. That said, I picked up a couple of peppermint shrimps that I probably won't risk putting in my main tank.

There is a huge variety amongst the wrasse family. Lots of color and personality. Fairy and flasher wrasses especially are typically smaller in size so they would be great additions to a 90.
