Currently I have alot of smaller fish in my 150g display (72x18x27), full mixed reef, 30g sump.

The only larger fish that I have is a yellow tang, which is around 5", and is very fat and healthy. He is also one of the first additions to the tank, and is very established. I would like to add another larger fish, but am concerned about the tang going after the new addition. He unfortunately made quick work of a CBB several months ago, but has never caused any other issues.

Current stock list:
3 firefish
2 yellow tail damsels
2 azure damsels
3 blue/green chromis
2 ocellaris clowns
Coral beauty
3 lyeretail anthias
Coral banded shrimp
Common red sea star

Any recommendations?

I think a wrasse would be a good addition to your tank. I personally like all the flasher wrasse

Rabbit Fish (various Foxface, etc.) Those spines on their backs generally keep hostile fish at a distance.

Thank you for both recommendations..these 2 fish are on my wish list actually. The only thing that has stopped me from getting the fox face was the worry of getting stuck by spines when working in the tank. The wrasses worry me because they are known jumpers. I do have a canopy open in the back only..I also have a bristle worm "issue", and am hoping the right wrasse can help with this.

I may end up with 1 or both of these options, thank you!

A single, mature tang can make adding larger fishes a pain....as you've seen.

If you have sand, a melanurus wrasse would make short work of bristle worms. Other good ones are red-lined, yellow (chrysus), leucoxanthus.

Great, thanks for the suggestion. I have about 1" of caribsea aragonite sand. Just looked up the melanurus wrasse, it is really nice looking and reasonably priced.
