I want to seal my concrete floors but my filtration is in the same room. Would doing this affect my tank in any way as I can’t move it without a lot of work and down time.

I’m going to say that it depends.

Are you using a low/no VOC sealant for your basement? If so, then I wouldn’t worry about it. However, if you’re reading stuff like “apply in well ventilated area” and such, then I might be a bit leery.

Turn off your skimmer and cover everything with a large trash bag, own the windows in your basement and run a bunch of fans the expedite the drying / curing process.

I’d just be careful to monitor your tank to make sure you aren’t depriving the system of too much oxygen during the process. 8 hours with no exchange with fresh air could kill everything.

Ok cool. Thanks for the advice and I’ll look into low/no VOC sealant
