Fish scratching or rubbing

is some scratching against rocks or flashing normal? None of my fish have any visible signs of illness. But every once in a while one will rub against a rock. Maybe once or twice in a day. Is some of this behavior normal?

Some scratching might be normal, I mean if you get an itch you need to scratch.

But, if you are seeing it regularly or frequently from a specific fish it could indicate parasites.

Have you noticed any other symptoms: yawning, hiding, swimming into flow, spots, rapid breathing, etc?

Flukes is an easy one to rule out, if you can catch one fish and do a fw dip you will see if there are flukes present. If there are flukes present, prazi pro is DT safe and effective.

Nope, none of that. Active, energetic, no spots on fish, no yawning or rapid breathing, only hides at night when lights out. Seems healthy. Just rubs a rock every once in a while

I wouldn't expect to see it multiple times a day every day. If this behavior continues for a week or longer, you might have an issue just waiting to surface.

Maybe just keep a close eye on it for now, if it continues or gains frequency you could try the fw dip then go from there.
