I just noticed my fish start scratching and emperor angel swim close to my cleaner shrimp to ask for something. My angel keep doing like that when I observed him. My tank has ich issue and managing by UV and feed healthy foods. Is it sign og fluke. If yes then after I do FW dip. Do I need to do anything or just put them back into DT?

You can confirm if it's flukes with a fwd. If it is you can treat in the dt with prazipro. Not sure if any of the experts are still awake yet but here's a link that may help

I have GC. Can I do that in DT. Some fish has no sign of disease but scratching on the sandbed and rock. My emperor angel has dot like ich and swim next to my cleaner shrimp. Not sure what he want from them

It could be flukes but it sounds like you are also about to experience an ich outbreak. GC is not safe to dose to the water column in your DT. I would do a FW dip and if you have flukes you can dose Prazipro to your DT.

+1 Prazipro is reef safe but I agree, sounds like your latent ich is making a re-appearance.

If you really want to be rid of it completely, you’ll need to pull/treat all of your fish and allow your tank to go fallow for 76 days.

Yeah, really frustrated when see it came back. I did WC and suck stuffs from sand bed, but seem like it doesn’t help much. If it get worse, I pull them out tomorrow

I have about 4 wrasses and emperor angel in my tank. Do they do well in QT with cooper?

I’ve put most of my wrasses through copper (a couple went through CP instead, but I don’t recommend it for wrasses based on my experience) they all handled it just fine. It’s important to raise the level SLOWLY, don’t try to bring it up in two days like the directions suggest... I’ll raise it up over several days to a week.

And test frequently to be sure you are on the right track. Hanna checker is all the rage for testing, since it spits out a number rather than having to match color charts. It also works for both ionic (cupramine) and chelated (copper power) copper.

If you are using traditional test kits, just make sure you have the right kit for the copper you plan to use.

I use cooper power and hanah checker. I have pink tail wrasse and Borbonius Anthias so I don’t want to lose them durinf treatment. The 30 cycle will count as it reach to 1.75 ppm right?

Yes, once you reach therapeutic levels you start the clock.

Ok, should I put my wrasses into Cooper Power? How about anthias and angel react to cooper??

The wrasses should be ok in copper power (cheleted copper) as long as you ramp it up slowly. I’m not 100% sure about the Anthias but maybe @ngoodermuth knows.

Anthias are pretty much the same as the wrasses, just go slow while bringing the level up. They don’t tolerate CP at all, so copper is the only real option. Angels are fine with either.

Thanks, good to know. I will start at 1.ppm and ramp up in 3-4 days. How many dose daily do you usually do??

I usually split my intended daily dose into two, and do half in the morning and half at night. I check the level before my night dose just to make sure I’m getting to be where I expect it to be.

Thanks, will do as your advice
