Fish size too large in quarantine tank?

Hi all,
I am wondering if I can have a 5" whitetail bristletooth tang in a 20 gallon quarantine tank for 6 weeks. Is this fish too big? If not, can I add another fish with it?

if the tank is properly equipped that fish should be fine to quarantine. As far as another fish with it, that depends what type and size of fish, but I'd lean towards letting it have the space to itself.

I assume then a 4" pyramid butterfly with it would be too much?
What is properly equipped? I've got a sponge filter/air tube, some PVC (small & large), and a powerhead.

Especially in a QT I’d say by itself. You may have stress induced issues with 2 fish that size. I’d want to make QT as stress free as possible.

I would not quarantine both together in a tank that small. Be sure the PVC is large enough for the tang to hide comfortably. You may also want to add some mature bio-media to the QT for stability.

I don't medicate. This is my CBB currently in QT

EDIT : I would not put two 4" fish together in a 20g with PVC overnight much less for 6 weeks but that me.
